UPMRC Recruitment Age Limit 2024: |
An eligible candidate must be between 21 and 28 years old as of March 1, 2024. However, there is a provision for a three-year age relaxation for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Class (OBC) category and a five-year relaxation for those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
UPMRC Recruitment Exam Pattern 2024: |
Written Test Overview:
The recruitment process entails a comprehensive objective type Computer Based Test (CBT) held over one or more days. It primarily comprises multiple-choice objective-type questions aimed at assessing candidates’ proficiency in the
- English language,
- General Awareness,
- Logical Ability,
- Quantitative Aptitude,
- And expertise in their respective discipline.
Question Breakdown:
- For categories E-01 to E-09 & NE-Ol to NE-06, a total of 140 questions will be provided, with each question carrying equal marks.
- Additionally, categories NE-07 to NE-08 will entail a total of 100 questions, also carrying equal marks.
- It’s important to note that there will be a negative marking system in place, deducting 1/3 mark for every incorrect response.
Test Duration and Mode:
The duration of the test paper will be 2 hours, during which candidates will need to complete the examination.
Further Assessment Criteria:
Candidates who successfully qualify in the written test for the Station Controller cum Train Operator role and secure a high ranking on the merit list within the designated zone of consideration, as determined by UPMRC, will be invited for further assessments. This includes the Psycho Aptitude test, Document Verification, Iris Verification, and Medical Examination, all of which will be conducted in Lucknow.
Psycho Aptitude Test and Beyond:
The Psycho aptitude test serves as a qualifying assessment, with candidates numbering sixteen times the vacancies (across all categories and in accordance with prescribed reservation) being called for this evaluation. Those who pass the Psycho aptitude test and rank high on the merit list will proceed to the next stages, which involve Iris verification, Biometric verification, Document Verification, and finally, a Medical Examination.
