Eligibility:
1. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Plant Biochemistry, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Botany.
- Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with NET/GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in basic molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular marker analysis).
- Skills in molecular cloning and recombinant vector development.
- Experience in genetic transformation of crops, development, and analysis of transgenic plants, genome editing, plant tissue culture, and scientific writing.
2. Young Professional II (YP II)
Essential Qualifications
- Postgraduates in Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Plant Biochemistry, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Botany.
- Graduate degree holders in relevant Agricultural Sciences/Engineering/Technology.
Desirable Qualifications
- Similar to those for the SRF, with emphasis on basic molecular techniques, molecular cloning, genetic transformation of crops, and genome editing.

Indian Agricultural Research Institute Selection Process
