Eligibility
Educational Qualifications:
- For Science Subjects: Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
- For Other than Science Subjects: Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
Age Criteria:
Candidates born between 03 January 2004 and 31 December 2007 are eligible to apply. The upper age limit on the date of enrollment should be 21 years.
Medical Standards:
- Height: The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 152.5 cm, and for female candidates, it is 152 cm.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Chest: Well-developed chest with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cm.
- Hearing and Dental: Normal hearing and healthy gums with a good set of teeth.
Selection Process
The selection test is not for commissioning as officers, pilots, or navigators but to induct candidates as Agniveervayu. The process includes:
- Online Registration: Candidates must register online at the designated portal.
- Online Test: Objective-type questions covering English, Physics, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Includes a 1.6 km run, sit-ups, push-ups, and squats.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by the Air Force Medical Team to ensure candidates meet the required health standards.
- Adaptability Test: Evaluates the candidate’s ability to adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and military life.
Training and Benefits
Selected candidates will undergo military training tailored to the IAF’s requirements. During their engagement period, Agniveervayu will receive a monthly package, risk and hardship allowances, and other perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation, and leave travel concession.
Upon completion of the four years, candidates will receive a ‘Seva Nidhi’ package, and those meeting the criteria may be considered for enrollment in the regular cadre of the IAF.
